Disability Empowerment Center Grand Opening

February 19, 2009

dec-1After much planning it’s finally here – the grand opening of the Disability Empowerment Center (DEC) in Phoenix!

Today is the official grand opening of the 65,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, a universally designed, accessible, and transit-oriented non-profit resource serving the disability community.  Our client, the Arizona Bridge dec-21to Independent Living (ABIL), now calls the DEC home, along with the Arizona Center for Disability Law, Raising Special Kids, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Arizona Chapter, Joni & Friends, the Statewide Independent Living Council, Arizona Autism United, Valley Center of the Deaf, PRN Medical Services, Inc. and the Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association.

Along with today’s celebration for the tenants of the building, there will be an open house tomorrow (Friday) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  The DEC is located at 5025 E. Washington Street in Phoenix.dec-3

We’ve watched its development from groundbreaking to this momentous grand opening, so we are very excited!  This resource will go a long way in better serving persons with disabilities and their families and friends.

Congratulations to all the tenants of the fabulous DEC!
