Today, HMA Public Relations’ client Cachet Homes helped Palomino Community Builders, Inc., a non-profit community development corporation, break ground on Palomino’s inaugural community at 2615 E. Paradise Lane.  Phoenix City Councilwoman Peggy Neely also attended the event. It was a smash hit! Check out the videos here, here and here.

Palomino Community Builders seeks to elevate the housing opportunities for members of the communities it serves by building single family homes that are more ecologically and fiscally sustainable than traditional low income housing.

Six single-family homes, which will range from about 1,300 to 1,600 square feet, will be built on the nearly 1.5-acre property. The funding for the project is being provided by City of Phoenix Housing Department, which is also providing down payment assistance.

“This groundbreaking is the beginning of a great partnership between the city of Phoenix and Palomino Community Builders that will put affordable housing within reach for more prospective homebuyers in Phoenix. The end product of this collaboration will be six new houses that will give residents more options and move the mix of housing in the Palomino neighborhood further towards home ownership. The pride and vested interest in the community that come with home ownership will further strengthen the neighborhood,” said Councilwoman Peggy Neely, whose district encompasses most of northeast Phoenix and includes the Palomino neighborhood.

The houses are intended for first-time homebuyers. Palomino will identify these homebuyers through Community Housing Resources of Arizona and will then qualify and assist them in every step of the process.
